Final speaker announced: but we bet you’ve never heard of Stuart Arnott

This week is a big one for the Power of One team, as the event this Friday has almost sold out.

We’re finalising arrangements, sorting WiFi and streaming arrangements and making sure everything’s in place for our incredible line-up of speakers.

But for one speaker who takes the stage this is an even bigger event.

For the team at start-up Mindings, this is the sort of chance that simply doesn’t come along every day.

Hello, world

Mindings is the brainchild of Stuart Arnott, a multi-award winning multimedia producer.  Stuart won our start-up competition and now has the chance to pitch his start-up idea to the assembled crowd at Power of One this Friday.

We have our fingers crossed for a great performance, because we think his idea absolutely rocks!

Social media for the disconnected

We don’t want to give the entire game away before Friday, but Stuart’s idea was to make sure everyone can benefit from mobile communications, no barriers to entry.

Named after the Scottish word for “a small gift, a token of goodwill, a memory, a recollection”, 'Mindings' is a remarkably simple idea to help Stuart’s elderly father stay in touch with his family through social messaging.  The prototype sits on his Father’s mantlepiece today.

Think using a special Android app to follow loved ones and make sure you don’t miss important appointments, all without the hassle of signing up to social media in the first place, and you’re close to Stuart’s vision of Mindings.

As Stuart says: “Mindings enables my Father to see his grandaughter growing up every day, and it comforts me to know that I am helping bring some light to his life."

Meet Stuart and the rest of the Mindings team at the Power of One on Friday.
